Evan Alex, I'm not sure I completely understood what you presented - maybe that explains why I build sticky web sites with low conversion rates. Some of your ideas seemed a little eccentric. Additionally, I'm no newbie to the web (I was online before Yahoo! - who'd have thought what started as just a directory of web sites would go so far) but I still don't understand why a name and email address is so important. I don't claim to understand direct marketing (which is odd because my company has to date used this as their primary sales tool - I am new around here). Maybe I've just never learnt enough about generating sales on web sites (hell, when I was studying at Uni for my Bachelor of Multimedia (yes we aussies have wierd degrees) the motto was - generate interest online, sell the product offline). I do hope to meet you at the X10Seminar so we can work together to bring my knowledge up to date - but final ok for this rests with my boss so who knows, I can only hope. June 17, 2004 - 6:50:35 AM
